08/06/16 – BEVERLEY CHESS CLUB IN THE N.C.C.U. TOURNAMENTS 2016
My name is Jon Fisher and I play for Horfield chess club in the Bristol and District league. I wanted to write and tell the Northern Counties Chess Union (NCCU) about an app I have been working on for the last few months called ChessJournal. Its specifically designed for league and tournament chess players to record, store, analyse and get statistics on their “over the board” seasons.
ChessJournal went live on the App Store on Saturday 28th May (at the moment its only on iPhone but we will be going to Android later) so its early days but i’d love to get some feedback and interest from serious amateur chess players (whom ChessJournal is designed for). I was hoping you might be able to share this email with the various member clubs of the NCCU to see if their is any interest?
You can download ChessJournal (it costs £1.49) for iPhone here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/chessjournal/id1088693254?mt=8
More information is also available from our:
Main website: http://chessjournalapp.com
Im really committed to make ChessJournal a success so any feedback from your members would be great. If they wanted to leave a nice review on the App Store that would also be great!
Thank you for taking the time to read my email. Any problems or questions then please do get in touch.
P.S. We already have two 5* reviews and yesterday ChessJournal entered the Top 20 in the boardgames category of the UK App Store!
Yesterday I was invited to Alnwick to present the NCCU Schools award to the chess club at St Paul’s Middle School. In fact the club also caters for former pupils who now attend The Duchess High School. A reporter from local newspaper was there to take photographs and I persuaded her to take one with my camera for the NCCU website, which I attach here.
The picture shows Henry Gormally ( Chess coach, far left), Paul Bielby (NJCA President, centre) and Maria Wilson (Head teacher, far right) together with 4 of the club members. The picture shows the first moves ever played with their new presentation board and set!
The Club Championship RULES 2016 have been updated and available on the NCCU Club Championship page or the link on the right hand menu..
Could you please download the flyer and share with all clubs and chess players on your contact list, team entries need to be in by 30th Jan 2016, cheers.
