The main change this year is that we will that there will now be consolation prizes for the losing semi-finalists. We will also consider contributing
towards travel expenses in case of hardship.
So for each of the 4 Sections, the prizes will be -
Winners £100
Runners-Up £50
Losing Semi-Finalists 2 x £25
Total prize money will therefore be 4 x £200 = £800.
I will be doing e-mails etc to try to get entries for the event but the Country Representatives have a key part to play - so please try to encourage your clubs to
have a go in this fine competition.

Fancy being the junior champion at your age in the North of England?
The NCCU Junior Championships will take place on SATURDAY 30th August
at the Hopwood Unionist Club in Heywood, just 2 minutes away from J19
of the M62. Open to all players U18 as of 1/9/07 who live in the North
of England.
All sections will run from 11 am to 5.15 pm.

2008 U18 Championships Directions and Info
The under 18 jamboree will be held at St Cuthbert's Church, The Market Square, Darlington DL1 5QG from 12.00 to 16.45 on Saturday 1st March.
The jamboree will be TWO rounds of two hours (one hour on each player's clock) and will be for teams of twelve in the open and six in the girl’s championship.
Players MUST be qualified to play for their county.
Arrival 11.45
Round 1 12.00 – 2.00
Round 2 2.30 – 4.30
Trophy awards 4.35
Cost of the hall will be split between competing teams. Local amenities in Darlington are a short distance away [including a market on Saturday]. There is
parking at and around the venue.
