This year’s Bradford congress was held at the Bradford Latvian Club, 5 Clifton Villas, off Manningham Lane, Bradford, from 13th to 15th September. There were 103 participants, which is more than in any of the previous three years, the recent highest entry being 102 in 2016.

First and second prizes in the Open were shared by Adam Ashton of 3Cs, Lancashire, and local player Phil R Watson, both on 4 points out of 5.

In the Major, 1st to 4th places were shared by Tim Spanton (Battersea), Marek Soszynski (Sutton Coldfield), Stephen Stokes (Bury) and Yasser Tello (Wimbledon), all on 4 points out of 5.

In the Minor, 1st and 2nd places were shared by Vivien Webster (Calderdale) and David Ashton (Pensby), both on 4½ out of 5.
